Jensen's customers are each treated as though they are special, and they are. This family owned-and-operated business has a style that makes shopping a pure delight.

Jensen's original 5,000-square-foot store was opened in 1940 by Einer and Marie Jensen in Blue Jay, California, a mountain community near Lake Arrowhead. It was purchased in 1981 by Gene Fulton, who began his merchandising career as a cleanup person and boxboy at Jensen's in 1957.

The original store is now over 30,000- square-feet and includes Jensen's famous Old Country Bakery. Jensen's first Minute Shoppe was opened across Lake Arrowhead in 1982. The family decision to expand into the desert area has been a remarkable success. The 32,000- square-foot Palm Desert market and bakery opened in 1983, followed by the elegant Palm Springs store in 1985. A second Jensen's Minute Shoppe was opened in Rancho Mirage in 1994. Another Jensen's location, in Wrightwood, was acquired in 1995, and a third Minute Shoppe was added in Running Springs in 1998. The Ceadar Glen location opened in 1981. The eighth Jensen's Finest Foods location is under construction in La Quinta, California and is scheduled to open in the fall of 2001.

Jensen's provides the very finest quality and variety of fresh produce, USDA Choice and Prime meats, fresh seafood, the desert's finest wine and liquor selection, cheeses from around the world, freshly cut flowers and the widest selection of gourmet specialty foods in the desert. Relied on by private shoppers, caterers, hotels and restaurants, the family has a reason to be proud of their growing company.
